Meet Katherine

Katherine Wood-Jacobs

Katherine Wood-Jacobs is the Co-Owner, with her husband Downing, of Troubadour Music Shop, a full service retail music store.  Prior to that she was Vice President of  programs for Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, a non-profit educational organization established by General Eisenhower to teach Americans about our history, heritage, freedom and the private enterprise system. Katherine currently serves as a Supervisor for Paradise Township.

Her volunteer activities include serving as a member of the Board of Directors at Arbor Place, and Historic Rock Ford, Lancaster County Drug and Alcohol Single Commission Advisory Board, American Heart Association, Chairman of the Annual Breakfast Conestoga River District Boy Scouts of America, local and national disaster team member for the American Red Cross, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce 2nd Class Cities Task Force and 2008-2009 President of the Rotary Club of Paradise.

Katherine is the Republican Committeewoman for Paradise Township, Area Chair for Pequea Valley, is serving her third term on the Republican State Committee, Chair of the Lancaster GOP Strategic Planning Committee and is Treasurer for JOEPAC for Congressman Joe Pitts.  For the last two years was Treasurer for the Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women.  She was the co-chair for the fall 2010 GOP banquet which raised $16,000 for the Lancaster GOP. A devoted Republican, Katherine has helped with many campaigns and fundraisers and is a member of the Women’s Republican Club of Lancaster County.

Katherine holds a B.A. in Political Science (Cum Laude) from Villanova University. She is married to husband Downing and they live in Paradise, Lancaster County with 3 dogs and one cat.  They have two grown children, son George in New Jersey and daughter Laura in Los Angeles.  They enjoy auctions, fishing, sailing, reading, gardening, cooking, family visits and music.
